In order to help countries around the world to better overcome the educational challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic, the OECD, in cooperation with the Harvard Global Education Innovation Initiative and the World Bank Education Global Practice, established the world's best education initiative database. It lists innovative educational solutions during the pandemic, including the educational TV “Tava klase” made by IZM.
"Tava klase" TV channel provided audiovisual materials in a 20-minute format, in which educators and enthusiasts of various fields took part and presented information in an attractive manner.
“We are pleased that the “Tava klase” initiative has been appreciated not only in Latvia and in another 70 countries, but also by international experts. Such a learning platform addresses many of the challenges that have existed in education for a long time: it promotes changing thinking and methodologies, develops self-directed learning and problem-solving skills, and increases the prestige of the teaching profession. It is important that we can be recognized at world level and be an example for other countries!” says Ilga Šuplinska, Minister for Education and Science.
