Hugo is this season's partner of the longterm female inhabitant of the nest, Milda. Hugo built a new nest and helped Milda with watching the eggs.
Now Milda sits on the two eggs all by herself and is also bothered by other young eagles.
Ornithologist Jānis Ķuze, commenting on the nest's events, said that only around 60% of nests are successful in hatching and raising offspring.
"The chance that nesting will be successful this year is very small. Of course, an unexpected turn of events can always happen," Ķuze said. He added that there was no point in guessing the reasons for Hugo's absence. Commenters on the livestream's forum had noticed Hugo had an injured beak last week.
On Monday, Milda is still sitting on eggs and watching her surroundings.
