Head to Līgatne for Mushroom Day

On Saturday, September 2, in the nature trails of Līgatne, Mushroom Day will take place, which has been canceled for the past two years due to drought. This year has been generally rainfall-rich, which has also contributed to the growth of mushrooms, Līgatne Trails said on August 28.

The event will provide the opportunity to take a walk along the nature trails of Līgatne and to see an exhibition of mushrooms found in the woods around Līgatne and Sigulda.

Between 11:00 and 15:00 mycologist Edgars Mūkins will tell visitors more broadly about his findings. As usual, visitors are invited to bring their own frozen mushrooms, including ones that they cannot recognize.

The mushroom exhibition in Līgatne nature trails will be composed by mycologist Edgars Mūkins, who is known among mushroomers with the portal senes.lv, which contains extensive information on the fungi found in Latvia and current developments in mushroom matters.
