'Stopify' reports year of success in donation streaming to Ukraine

A year ago, in November 2022, the platform Stopify - a donation streaming service in support of the Ukrainian armed forces - was launched by Latvia. 7,640 subscribers from 49 countries have donated a total of 889,120 euros to Ukraine, and 12 deliveries of equipment have been arranged for the Ukrainian army within a year, Stopify reported on November 2.

The platform Stopify was created a year ago by three communications industry professionals and good friends - Māris Upenieks, Mārcis Miķelsons-Germs, and Miks Miķelsons.

Maris Upenieks, author of the “Stopify” idea, said that the platform's growth is organic, without any budget ads: “We are therefore grateful to any medium and platform that hears us and helps to amplify the Stopify word more widely, without compensation. Translators, influencers, and communication specialists – without them all this would not have been possible. As well as our subscribers, who choose to direct a small donation of the price of a couple of coffees a month for a sacred purpose – bringing Ukraine's victory closer. But the work is far from over, Ukrainian defenders need our help now more than ever!”

So far, 12 deliveries of equipment have been implemented through Stopify: 10 pickup trucks and jeeps, 61 drones, 12 quad bikes, buggies and motorcycles, 59 night vision equipment and thermal cameras, 3 speedboats, 92 generators and portable charging stations, and 1,277 other equipment units - tactical clothing, computers, binoculars, metal detectors, armor jackets, walkie-talkies and other items needed by defenders - have been taken to Ukraine. They have been received by various Ukrainian military units, including the 72nd Mechanised Brigade, the 36th Marines Brigade and many others.

Stopify” offers subscribing to one of its monthly plans of 6.99 euros, 14.99 euros, or a monthly amount of free choice.

The strategic partners of the donation platform “Stopify” are “Ziedot.lv” and the Embassy of Ukraine in Latvia. The platform will be automatically closed on the day of Ukraine's victory or the day a peace deal based on Ukrainian conditions is signed.
