As previously reported, police are looking for Justīne Reinikova, born in 2016, who has been missing since Friday, May 5.
Police said Sunday night that an area around 20 km has been searched several times by police, border guards, national guards and volunteers, bodies of water have been checked with the help of water drones, and ponds have been pumped out. Dog units ave also been in action, but her whereabouts remain unknown.
On Monday morning the search was continuing with the help of a border guard helicopter. Police are working on different search strategies.
"The search has changed. We cannot, unfortunately, use resources as actively [anymore]. Practically the entire area around the village has been searched. Search efforts are ongoing, but with not as many people as before," said Guntars Kračus, State Police Latgale region Ziemeļlatgale precinct deputy chief.
On Friday, Justīne left her residence at about 19:00, in Rēzekne municipality, Nautrēnu parish, Rogovka village, and has not returned.
Her height is 124 centimeters. Justīne has blond shoulder-length hair. She has health problems, and is non-verbal. She wore a short pink windbreaker, a white sweater, black jeans, and black fabric shoes.
State police ask that anyone who knows her possible location should call 67006734 or 110.
