The Citizenship and Migration Affairs Office (PMLP) on January 15 published a list of the most common names given to newborns in Latvia in 2023.

Last year, the most popular girls' name was Emīlija and boys' Olivers, the Latvian versions of Emily and Oliver.

The girl name top also included Sofija, Amēlija, Alise, Anna, and Emma, whereas for the boys, Olivers was followed by Marks, Roberts, Jēkabs, Gustavs, and Adrians.
