Latvia could see 25-degree heat on Tuesday

Air temperatures will approach the 25-degree mark in southern Latvia on Tuesday, according to forecasts.

There will still be plenty of clouds in the sky, but the sun will show up as well. No rain is expected.

Slow winds of variable direction will blow.

Most of the country will have a maximum temperature of +19 C to +24 C, places in the Lithuanian border area can reach +25 C. It will be much cooler in many parts of the coast, especially on the Gulf of Riga coast in Kurzeme, where temperatures can remain below the 10-degree mark throughout the day.

If the air temperature reaches a full 25 degrees today, this one will become the earliest date in the spring when it happened. Until now, the earliest 25 degrees in Latvia was recorded on April 17, 1999.

In Riga, the day will pass without precipitation, slow winds will blow, sometimes the sun will rise. The maximum air temperature in the city center will be around 22 degrees, but in the north of the city it will be cooler, especially in the afternoon when winds from the Gulf side of Riga can turn in, temperatures could slide to 10 degrees.
