The majority of the country will see 4-9 centimeters of snowfall. Roads will become snowy and slippery, with visibility deteriorating in the snowfall. The Latvian Environment, Geology, and Meteorology Center issued a yellow alert for heavy snowfall in the central and eastern parts of the country.
Air temperatures in western and central regions will be within 0 to +3 C but in eastern Latvia -4 C to -8 C.
In Riga, it will snow heavily, and in the evening there will be some rain. Moderate southwesterly winds will blow, northwesterly wind gusts of up to 16 meters per second are expected in the late afternoon. The maximum air temperature will be 1 degree.
Meanwhile, Latvian State Roads (LVC) said that on Friday morning, roads are slippery in Latgale.
