A selection of remarkable art events for this weekend in Latvia.

The Creative Quarter “Art Combine”

June 15 will mark the 6th seasonal opening of the creative quarter “Art Combine” belonging to the Artists' Union of Latvia (LMS). The event will run from 14:00 to 18:00 this Saturday and will host a charity campaign “Anna's Street Food Saturday”, as part of which the street food master Nia will be offering a wide variety foods to taste. The hiphop artists BeLive will be taking care of the musical program. 

Attendees will have an opportunity to see the sculpture, scenography, ceramics, and graffiti expositions of the LMS museum, while children will be invited to take part in the “On Asphalt” drawing session. Renowned designers, sculptors and heraldry artists will also be hosting creative workshops.

Riga Performance Festival – “The Arrival”

Three multimedia artists come together to explore the body as the point of arrival and departure. The doors of the 5-hour performance will open every 30 minutes to let in five spectators. The event is part of the Riga Performance Festival: Starptelpa, running from June 10 to 16.

Survival Kit 10.1 – “Labrys”

The contemporary art festival Survival Kit 10.1 presents “Labrys”, a performance blending contemporary dance and scenography by artists Krišjānis Santa (LV) and Ieva Gaurilčikaite (LT). The work is “an effort to create a mythological architectural structure, a labyrinth, with the help of movement.”

There will be two performances. Everyone interested must complete a form indicating which of the performances they would like to attend:
