Inčukalns gas storage ends season

The natural gas transmission and storage system operator AS “Conexus Baltic Grid” has closed the natural gas removal season with 9 terawatt hours (TWh) of natural gas remaining. This is 21% more than last year when closing the season, Conexus grid representatives said on May 11.

During the gas injection season, storage was filled at 60% of the available technical capacity. 8.7 TWh of natural gas was pumped out during the withdrawal season.

Overall, 4.8 TWh of natural gas has been injected during the last cycle, with more than 9 TWh currently being stocked.

The largest daily natural gas volume of 148.8 GWh was consumed on December 2. The largest monthly volume in the season was removed in December, at 2.6 TWh.

2023/2024 storage cycle capacity auctions have so far reserved all available capacity of 22.6 TWh, or 100% of technical capacity.
