As reported, at the beginning of April, the railway bridge in Pārdaugava was closed for traffic because of the technical condition on the bridge, but shortly after it was reopened for vehicles weighing less than five tonnes. Public transport on bus routes 25, 55, and 56 is currently diverted.
Lange said that the city council is currently awaiting an expert examination to agree on the work to be done.
"We need to understand whether we should invest in this bridge or not. And understand whether we can continue placing full load on this bridge or if we should restrict it," Lange said.
The bridge is planned to be demolished during the construction of Rail Baltica, the question is when it will happen. Lange said it was unlikely to happen soon.
