That's the location of the Free Riga movement's "Lastādija" (the old name of the neighborhood) project where mainly young people are exploring the possibilities for a different way of life in the Latvian capital.
Almost every week there is a clean-up of abandoned or derelict territory, a goods exchange service has been set up and there are regular artistic and cultural events. But can such a community really exist in today's urban environment for very long, and are all the participants as united in their purpose as they might like to believe?
These are just some of the questions explored by the film "Free place - Lastādija" which is directed by Aija Bley.
