Ukrainian-support posters in Rīga vandalized

A video has been released on social networks showing several people across from the Embassy of Russia in Rīga damaging a stand dedicated to supporting Ukraine, pulling off some of the posters.

State Police (VP) told Latvian Television on Sunday that prosecution follows in situations where police detect offenders targeting support from Ukraine, including damaging posters placed in support.

"Both yesterday and today, one person has been punished for damaging such posters. In total, 12 administrative violation proceedings were opened outside the Embassy of Russia yesterday for various violations, and there were also detainees. This case will also be assessed accordingly," the VP noted.

As reported earlier, the number of cases of vandalism in support of Russia have been observed to rise.
