Another 422 cases of Covid-19 infection were added to Latvia's total on November 15, according to the latest figures from the Disease Prevention and Control Center (SPKC).

Monday's figure is usually the lowest of the week due to a smaller number of tests being conducted on Sundays. Of the 422 total, 252 cases were unvaccinated persons, or persons not fully vaccinated, and 170 were fully vaccinated. The total number of cases detected since the start of the pandemic now stands at 240,762.

Of the 5,207 tests carried out in the past 24 hours, 8.1% were positive. The 14-day cumulative morbidity rate per 100,000 population dropped again from 1,119.8 Sunday to 1,103 Monday, providing further evidence that the current infection wave is now past its peak.

Just three more Covid-related deaths were also confirmed, with all of the victims over the age of 70 years. None of the fatalities were fully vaccinated individuals. The death toll since the start of the pandemic now stands at 3,765.

Sunday data show 1,300 patients being treated in hospital with 212 patients displaying serious symptoms.
