On November 1 last year, police received information about the missing 1989-born Anna Jansone and her daughter, Luīze Evertovska, born in 2023. The following day, November 2, State Police officers found a car in a forest in Jelgava municipality, Valgunde parish, in which the dead Luīze was found. Her autopsy has now been completed and the cause of death is stated as infant sudden death syndrome. No signs of violence or traces of chemicals have been found in the body.
Infant sudden death syndrome is the death of a small child for which no externally visible cause is found. Specific causes leading to this tragic event have still not been identified, but oxygen deprivation (hypoxia) has been observed in all sudden infant deaths. Infant sudden death syndrome is associated with the fact that in the baby's body, the respiratory center has not yet matured, so in some cases, the baby's breathing simply stops, according to the Disease Prevention and Control Center.
Missing Anna Jansone still hasn't been found.
Police said various search efforts had been carried out since the first day of the disappearance, attracting large human resources.
State Police are still appealing for anyone with information, including video footage, that may be useful in the search for Anna Jansone to contact State Police by calling 67086678 or 110 or by emailing [email protected].
