Cooler weather expected early next week

The weather in Latvia will turn colder from Sunday, and light snow is expected in many areas early next week, according to forecasts.

The weather will be warm on Saturday, but there will be some rain across Latvia during the day. Temperatures will reach +7 to +13 degrees. There will be gusty south, south-westerly winds.

On Sunday, southerly winds will give way to northerly winds, gusting to around 20 meters per second in the evening along the Kurzeme coast. Rain is expected at times, with wet snow in places. Temperatures on Sunday will not exceed +3 C to +8 C.

At the start of the new week, snow and rain are also expected at times. A light layer of snow may form in many places, but it will not last long. Roads will be slippery.

Air temperatures will be below freezing on Monday and Tuesday morning, down to -3 C in places and +1 to +7 C during the day.

The weather will turn warmer again from midweek.
