Some police staff resign because of Covid certificate requirement

Upon the entry into force of the provisions that the State Police can only work onsite with a Covid certificate, some have been sent into downtime and some have resigned, said Chief of State Police Armands Ruks to Latvian Television October 21.

He said that there were not too many cases, without giving a specific number, and none of the employees who don't want to vaccinate against Covid-19 come from higher-ranked staff.

Currently, 76% of the employees of State Police are fully vaccinated against Covid-19 while another 14% have started vaccination. The Chief of the State Police expressed hope that the undecided 10% would also get the jab.
