This weekend LSM presents you with a look at some of Latvia's most interesting observation towers providing a princely look at some of the most picturesque areas of the country, at the time of the year when more and more Latvians choose to go to the countryside on the weekends. 

The "ten-lat bill" tower

Want to experience a view so impressive it made its way onto a piece of currency? The Vasargelišķi tower offers a view towards a famous meander of the River Daugava pictured on Latvia's ten lat note.

The Tērvete sightseeing tower

Meanwhile the Tērvete Nature Park houses an "observation tower that proudly rises above the treetops and is one of the most impressive structures of its kind in Latvia," according to Latvia's official tourism bulletin.

A long-range view at Rīga

Ogre's Zilie Kalni park, some 30 kilometers from Rīga, has a rather tall tower that offers a glimpse of Rīga's television towers and meanders of the River Daugava in the distance.

Lielais Liepu hill tower

But for those of you visiting Latgale, the tower on top of the Lielais Liepu kalns near Rēzekne offers a look at the nearby lakes and hills.
