Watch: Juventus choir in remote harmony

Take note – story published 4 years ago

With some success, Latvia has moved a great part of its government, business and even cultural offerings online, pushing the limits of online information exchange to an unprecedented extent.

Even highly physical events such as PE lessons for school students have been moved online, but amidst this there are still whopping cases that prove people's enthusiasm for what they love – and incidentally showcase the resilience of Latvia's web infrastructure.

Latvia's Mixed choir Juventus has published a choral piece online amidst the physical distancing measures taken in the country.

Specifically, the choir, which is celebrating its 100th anniversary online, showcased their rendition of Māris Šverns' indie classic Mans zirgs (My Horse) by singing their parts separately at home and then assembling them into a single soundtrack.

"#paliecmājās (#stayhome) is something completely new and worrying, but there remains one recipe on the way to better times. Listen to a socially distanced rendition of Juventus' song Mans zirgs, which has made us closer to one another than our weekly rehearsals have," the choir said on Facebook.
