Meet notable Latvian historic figures on new website

Latvian Association of Memorial Museums has created a webpage for notable persons in Latvian cultural history, the association said January 20.

The online environment has been created as an alternative for museums while they are closed due to Covid-19. The Notable Persons page on the memorial museums' website is available in Latvian, English and Russian.

Currently, you can read the stories of Rainis, Aspazija, Jānis Akuraters, Rūdolfs Blaumanis, Krišjānis Barons, Janis Rozentāls, Ojārs Vācietis, and Andrejs Upīts.

Three of these figures are also featured on the Stories page, where you can find out interesting tidbits from a 'less common viewpoint', namely, Empathetic Blaumanis, Ojārs Vācietis and Birds, and Aspazija's postcards.
