Latvian theater director Zane Kreicberga dies

On the night of June 11, Latvian theater director, professor at the Latvian Academy of Culture (LKA) and theoretician of performing arts Zane Kreicberga (1971–2024) passed away after a serious illness, her relatives announced on Facebook.

Zane was the initiator and implementer of the activities of the Latvian New Theater Institute, one of the curators of the International New Theater Festival Homo Novus, and the director of many international projects.

Zane Kreicberga has directed productions at the National, Liepāja, Valmiera, Latvian Puppet, New Riga Theatre, and Independent Theatre Skatuve, several chamber operas, as well as a number of independent arts synthesis projects and concert directing, mostly in collaboration with the Latvian Radio Choir, according to the Latvian Culture Academy's website.

She was a lecturer at the Culture Academy for over 20 years.
