5G Techritory conference 'phygitally' happening this week

October 18-19 sees another business and technology event being staged in Rīga under the '5G Techritory' banner.

Described as a 'phygital' event i.e. it is being held both physically and digitally, the vent is described by organizers as "an initiative to bring together the key players in 5G development with the goal of developing a robust and aligned 5G Ecosystem in Europe and beyond."

On October 18th, during the Opening ceremony of 5G Techritory 2023, there will be opening keynote speeches and afterwards the Minister of Transport of Latvia, Kaspars Briškens, and the Minister of Digital Transformation of Ukraine and Vice Prime Minister for Innovations, Development of Education, Science & Technologies, Mykhailo Fedorov, will sign a Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation for Ukraine’s digital transformation.

Participation has been confirmed by Thierry Breton, European Commissioner for the Internal Market, Audrey Plonk, Head of the Digital Economy Policy Division at the OECD, and Latvian Prime Minister Evika Siliņa.

Later in the day there will be a networking dinner for the many participants, followed by an interesting-sounding "Night Rump Session". 

5G Techritory is organized by the Electronic Communications Office of Latvia and 'powered by' the Investment and Development Agency of Latvia (LIAA) in cooperation with the International Telecommunication Union (ITU).
