Latvian Software as a Service (SaaS) startups My3D.Cloud and Hyperjob have been announced as two of 10 finalists to compete for a 10,000 euro cash prize at the TechChill Milano Startup Pitch Battle. The final battle will be held on September 29 in Milan, Italy, when founders will pitch their startups to a room of over 100 investors and 1,000 attendees and media representatives.

My3D.Cloud is a 3D data cloud storage platform for architects, contractors, and other professionals that perform 3D scanning and modeling of industrial and commercial facilities, whereas Hyperjob is a SaaS solution for recruiters to prepare eye-catching job ads that help attract 3-6x more relevant leads when sourcing candidates.

In total, 362 applications from 26 countries were received, with 50 making it to the semi finals. Three of the 50 semi finalists were Latvian startups – My3D.Cloud, Hyperjob, and SimpleCharge.

The 10 finalists were chosen by a jury consisting of 26 investors and other experts from the industry. They evaluated each participant's business idea, its scalability, and the team behind it. Another criteria was that the startup has not received more than 300,000 EUR in equity funding and is considered to be at the seed or early stage.

“TechChill's Fifty Founders Battle aims to showcase the most promising startups from the region and beyond, and help them get noticed by investors, that way accelerating their growth. Before coming to Milan, TechChill was held in Riga, Latvia and in 10 years, we've crowned 10 Fifty Founders Battle winners – six of which have attracted additional capital within 12 months,” said Annija Mezgaile, TechChill CEO.

The winner of the TechChill Milano Startup Pitch Battle will receive a 10,000 cash prize – no strings attached – as well as various other extras.

This will be the 11th TechChill conference, but the first year it's venturing outside the borders of Latvia. TechChill's Startup Pitch Battle is the conference's most-watched event. Past TechChill pitch competition winners include Baltic success stories Infogr.am, TrackDuck, Edurio, Nordigen, Sprayprinter, Anatomy Next, Precision Navigation Systems, Longenesis, and this past year – Vocal Image App.

TechChill is a startup community non-profit that hosts the largest tech event in Latvia, and is now expanding its scope to include Italy. Having grown from a small grassroots movement of like-minded tech enthusiasts, TechChill celebrates the best of the startup community by annually bringing together thousands of attendees, including fastest-growing startups, most innovative corporations and speakers, investors active in the region and talented tech enthusiasts.
