In October, For Development of Latvia admitted a number of new members, including Pabriks and Ijabs who ran in the last Saeima and European elections respectively on the joint For Development/For ticket, but were not actual members of any party at the time.
Pabriks said he had decided to get actively involved with the party which shares his vision of Latvia's future development. Pabriks said that he liked the party's values of classic liberalism and that he believed in the party's potential on Latvia's political scene.
Ijabs indicated that he has always wanted to see Latvia as part of a modern, developed and inclusive Europe. "Sustainable growth is based on the ability to take resolute action both in good and hard times, maintaining the political vision of the desirable future goal," said Ijabs.
For Development is the liberal-business oriented party of the centrist-liberal For Development/For! union of parties.
