The level of prices of products sold on the domestic market decreased by 12.1 %, and prices of exported products – by 3.2 %. Prices of products exported to euro-area countries decreased by 4.5 % and of products exported to non-euro area countries by 2.1 %.
Trade and manufacture of electricity, gas and heat supply; manufacture of wood and of products of wood and cork (except furniture), as well as manufacture of chemicals and chemical products had a downward impact on the producer prices. Mining and quarrying, as well as manufacture of beverages had an upward impact on the producer price changes.
In September 2023, compared to August 2023, the level of producer prices in Latvian industry increased by 0.7 %. Prices of products sold on the domestic market rose by 1.4 %, but price level of exported products remained unchanged. Producer prices of products exported to euro area countries decreased by 0.3 %, while prices of products exported to non-euro area countries rose by 0.3 %.
Price rise in electricity, gas, steam and air conditioning supply; manufacture of chemicals and chemical products, as well as manufacture of fabricated metal products (except machinery and equipment) had upward impact on the overall level of producer prices during the month. Price drop in manufacture of wood and of products of wood and cork (except furniture), as well as manufacture of selected food products had downward impact on the producer price changes.
