More than half of Latvia's GDP comes from Rīga

According to Central Statistical Bureau (CSB) data published December 28, the Latvian capital, Rīga, dominates contributions to the country's gross domestic product (GDP).

In 2021 the GDP of Latvia at current prices was EUR 33.3 billion. 52.9 % (EUR 17.6 billion) of GDP was attributable to Riga, which was followed by Pierīga (the area around the capital) with 15.9 % (EUR 5.3 billion), which together account for more than two thirds (68.8 %) of the GDP of Latvia.
