One of the co-owners of “Latvian propane gas” (Latvijas propāna gāze), Anatolijs Černihs, has been fined EUR 12,400 for attempted violation of sanctions committed on May 23, 2022.
The Prosecutor's Office has also applied coercive measures to “Latvian propane gas”, namely a restriction of the right to carry out transactions with Belarusian companies or companies registered in Belarus for one year.
A cash collection of EUR 24,800 has been carried out from the company and a confiscation of property worth EUR 9,500 has been applied. €64,008 in the bank was also found by the prosecution to be an offense-related item and decided to be confiscated.
The case was investigated by the State Security Service (VDD), which, without mentioning the person's name, previously wrote in a press release that the criminal proceedings service began on September 28, 2022, and the investigation involved transactions in iron and steel products.
In another case, the prosecutor's office imposed a €7,440 penalty on a businessman for violating sanctions imposed by the European Union. The company has been imposed a coercive measure - a ban on importing goods from Belarus for two years.
As one of the company's board members, the person imported 21.3 tons of flax-clip granules from Belarus into Latvia.
