However, despite the double-digit rise, a number of factors to take into consideration make the figure less impressive.
Turnover of retail trade in food products declined by 3.0 %. Retail trade in non-food products (except for retail sale of automotive fuel) increased by 23.3 %, but turnover of retail sale of automotive fuel – by 9.1 %.
As compared to November 2021, the largest turnover rise was registered in retail sale of clothing, footwear and leather goods (94.4 %), retail sale of cultural and recreation goods (57.3 %) and retail sale of hardware, instruments, construction materials and sanitary equipment (44.4 %).
In October and November 2021 these sectors were mostly affected by strict retail trade restrictions, which were implemented to reduce the infection of COVID-19.
Total retail trade turnover at current prices increased by 30.1 % (not taking into account the calendar influence), but here again, fast-rising prices play a role.
Compared to October, the total turnover of retail trade enterprises in November 2022 increased by 1.3 %, according to seasonally adjusted data at constant prices. Turnover of retail trade in food products declined by 0.5 %. Retail trade in non-food products (except for retail sale of automotive fuel) increased by 1.3 %, but turnover of retail sale of automotive fuel – by 4.8 %.
As compared to the previous month, the most significant turnover growth was registered in retail sale in stalls or markets (8.0 %), retail sale in non-specialised stores selling mainly non-food products (3.2 %) and retail sale of cultural and recreation goods (3.0 %). The largest turnover drop was registered in retail sale of information and communication equipment in specialised stores (of 2.7 %).
Compared to October, in November 2022 the total retail trade turnover at current prices (not taking into account seasonality) decreased by 1.0 %.
