Latvian industrial output down but turnover up in November

Latest data released by the Central Statistics Bureau (CSB) January 3 showed that, compared to November 2017, in November 2018 industrial production output fell by 0.6 % (according to calendar adjusted data at constant prices).

"The decline was caused by the output reduction in electricity and gas supply (of 12.2 %), however a rise was recorded in manufacturing (of 3.3 %) and mining and quarrying (of 12.1 %)," said the CSB.

Compared to October 2018, in November 2018 industrial production output increased by 0.9 % (according to seasonally adjusted data at constant prices).

Turnover up

Compared to November 2017, in November 2018 manufacturing turnover increased by 6.6 % (according to calendar adjusted data at current prices). Turnover on the domestic market went up by 7.5 % and in export by 6.2 % (of which in euro area by 7.5 % and in non-euro area by 5.1 %).

Compared to October 2018, in November 2018 manufacturing turnover rose by 2.8 % (according to seasonally adjusted data). Turnover on the domestic market grew by 1.9 % and in export by 3.3 % (increase in euro area – of 1.8 % and in non-euro area – of 5.8 %).
