Over 800 employers ready to take pupils over summer break

More than 800 employers have applied for summer employment of pupils at the State Employment Agency (NVA), the agency LETA found out at NVA.

The number of jobs applied for and approved will be compiled in May.

NVA operational data show that by April 19, employers have submitted 839 applications to NVA.

Employers who, with the support of the NVA, will employ pupils over the summer will receive grants for the monthly salary of pupils at 50% of the national minimum wage, which is currently €700 before tax.

A pupil can be employed for two weeks to two months within the program. The provisions of the pupil summer employment program stipulate that the employer can negotiate a workplace with a particular pupil. The NVA restates that pupils should not be employed in jobs related to increased risks to their safety, health, morals, and development.

This year, the funding for the implementation of the program is EUR 4.17 million, which is enough to employ nearly 10,000 pupils.

It is planned to start the application of pupils to participate in the summer employment event on May 2.
