Transport Minister Kaspars Briškens is in the process of negotiating proposals by Vivi, Latvian Railways, and the Road Transport Administration on how to get passengers to their destinations on time. The issue came to light after significant delays to new trains last week and many cancellations as well.
Defects in new electric trains have been found in seven out of a total of 17 trains that have come to the ownership of Vivi. The company notes that due to train delays, passengers can also use a taxi, after which the paycheck is submitted to the company “Pasazieru Vilciens”.
To recover direct damages, a passenger may act in several ways as described in our previous story:
- apply electronically,
- turn to Vivi customer service center at Rīga Central Railway station,
- leave the application and the necessary documents at one of the Vivi checkout windows, if they are open at that time.
Printed application forms are available at checkouts and Vivi Customer Service Center and can also be downloaded from the company's website.
If it is more convenient to send an application by post, it should be addressed to AS “Pasažieru Vilciens”, on Pērses Street 8, Riga, LV-1011.
An electronic form is available on the Vivi website.
