Starting January 25, only one type of test - Polymerase chain reaction (PCR) test will be valid when entering Latvia. The PCR test is widely used worldwide as it is the internationally recognized method of testing for Covid-19, the ministry said.
On the other hand, those who have recently (up to three months prior) had Covid-19 will have to show a doctor's statement that the person is not infectious.
Ministry of Transport calls for a responsible assessment of the need to travel and to carefully examine the epidemiological safety requirements of the countries through or to which the person is to travel.
Since January 15, it has been mandatory to show a negative Covid-19 test in order to cross the Latvian border.
