An Airbus A220-300 aircraft will fly to Dublin four times a week, helping keep an estimated 40,000 Latvians in Ireland within easy reach of their homeland and opening up Latvia to more Irish tourists and business visitors.
Martin Gauss, Chief Executive Officer of airBaltic said: “We are happy to start our summer season schedule by launching a long-awaited and highly demanded connection between Riga and Dublin.”
Irish Ambassador to Latvia Jim Hennessy took part in the official opening of the new route, too.
airBaltic serves over 70 destinations from Riga, Tallinn and Vilnius, and in summer 2019, will introduce new links from Riga to Stuttgart, Lviv, Kos and Menorca in addition to Dublin.
