The program will be implemented in cooperation with Latvian Television, LA/TV24 Group, and Tvnet Group, using news from their websites LSM.lv, Tvnet.lv and LA.lv.
The Google platform will create what are described as News Favorites dashboards that will be visible in Google News on Android, iOS and the web, as well as in the Discover dashboard on iOS and Android, if you use those. These dashboards direct readers to articles on news sites.
The News Showcase also includes a feature that allows users to access a limited amount of paid content.
Globally, Google says it has signed News Showcase agreements covering more than 2,700 publications in 30 countries.
