Būris: Will the post-Covid economy be greener than before?

Take note – story published 2 years ago

LTV's Brussels corresponsdent Ilza Nagla returns with another discussion from the heart of the European Union, this time considering the current tension between populist political rhetoric and uncomfortable scientific fact on issues such as vaccines and particularly global environmental decline.

This time around she is joined by former Rīga mayor and now MEP Nils Ušakovs (Group of the Progressive Alliance of Socialists and Democrats) and Francisco Guerreiro (Group of the Greens/European Free Alliance) from Portugal, who look forward to the potential shape of a greener and more sustainable European economy.

The Brussels discussions in English are bolstered by local Latvian-language debates on related issues. You can see the list of topics that will be covered at the dedicated Būris web page on LSM. These include animal welfare, multiculturalism, euthanasia, and other controversial themes.

The Būris ('Cage') project is co-financed by the European Union.
