National Alliance tops April's party ratings

The April party ratings show that the right-of-center National Alliance political party currently is most popular among the Latvian society, according to a poll conducted by SKDS on the order of LTV.

This poll does not, per se, concern European Parliament elections.

The National Alliance (NA) ranked first in the party ratings with 8.1% of respondents in the latest regular monthly poll saying they would vote for it if Saeima elections were held tomorrow.

Also right-of-center Greens and Farmers Union (ZZS) jumped from fifth to second place with 7.6% support.

Centrist New Unity (JV) of Prime Minister Evika Siliņa remained in third place with 7.2%, with a steady decline in supporters, followed by populist Latvia First (6.6%).

The left-leaning Progressives (P) fell from the second place in March to the fifth in April with 6.5%.

Three more parties theoretically would end up in the parliament according to this poll, Harmony with 5.8% voters' support, United list with 5%, and For Stability! with 4%.

A large proportion was undecided at 28.3% and 11.6% said they would not go vote.

Taking into account also the readiness of responders to vote, if parliamentary elections were held tomorrow, National Alliance, New Unity, Greens and Farmers Union, Progressives, Latvia First, Harmony, United List, and For Stability! would end up in the parliament.
