Levits discussing democracy in Davos

Latvian President Egils Levits participates in the World Economic Forum in Davos January 17 as part of a panel titled "Democracy: The Way Forward".

"As democracy comes under increasing pressure, what can leaders do today to strengthen democratic systems?" asks advance publicity material.

As well as President Levits, speakers will include Adam Tooze (Director, European Institute, Columbia University), Oleksandra Matviichuk (Chair, Center for Civil Liberties Ukraine), Tobias Billström (Minister for Foreign Affairs, Sweden), Rodrigo Chaves Robles (President of Costa Rica), Mark Malloch-Brown (President, Open Society Foundations) and Samantha Power (Administrator, US Agency for International Development).
