Take note – story published 3 years ago

Over the weekend there have been many violations of curfew regulations, around 1000 cases, the Chief of State Police Armands Ruks told Latvian Television January 18.

According to him, more rule-breakers were caught on the night from Friday to Saturday. Some administrative proceedings have been initiated.

A fine of €1,500 was imposed on one person.

Many warnings were issued to individuals, Ruks said, adding that a total of 11,000 people were checked over the weekend, most had a self-certification of necessity to leave home.

Next weekend will also see the current curfew conditions imposed, after which the rules are set to lapse unless renewed by a fresh government decision.
