News of the most recent piece of hardware to be sent to Kyiv was released by Defense Minister Ināra Mūrniece on social media, who said the model in question was a Mi-17.

Latvia's acquisition of modern U.S. 'Black Hawk' helicopters has rendered its small fleet of ageing Soviet-era choppers surplus to requirements – though they can usefully be employed in Ukraine.
A year ago, four helicopters were sent, as reported by LSM at the time.
