3,000 to participate in international military exercises in Vidzeme next week

From September 23 to October 6, the Silver Bullet 2019 international military exercises will take place in the Latvian province of Vidzeme, where over 3,000 soldiers from 12 different countries will participate in, LETA was informed by the Defense Ministry.

Participating in the exercises will be soldiers from Latvia, Albania, the Czech Republic, Estonia, Italy, Canada, Lithuania, Montenegro, Poland, Slovakia, Slovenia and Spain.

The objective of the exercises is to improve the cooperation of the National Armed Forces with allied forces, as well as to train the capabilities of the units to plan and conduct defense operations, including facilitating cooperation between the Ground Forces Mechanized Infantry Brigade and NATO units in Latvia. The 1st Riga Brigade and the 2nd Vidzeme Brigade will also participate in the training.
