The NATO-organized exercises will be held in forest at Strautini, Aluksne County and the Lāčusils military range.
About 250 soldiers from NATO's expanded presence in the country, alongside their Latvian hosts, including national guards, will take part in the training which aims to improve co-operation and interoperability of the NATO battle group.
The multinational battle group in Latvia is led by Canada, and it is made up of over 1,300 soldiers from Albania, the Czech Republic, Italy, Poland, Canada, Slovakia, Slovenia and Spain, who rotate their personnel in Latvia, based at the Adaži camp just outside Rīga.

Meanwhile on November 23 and 24 a meeting of the Baltic Defense Ministers will take place in Vilnius, Lithuania, where they will discuss regional defense and security issues.
During the meeting, Defense Minister Raimonds Bergmanis, Lithuanian Defense Minister Raimundas Karoblis and Estonian Defense Minister Jüri Luik will discuss the priorities and joint projects of Baltic defense cooperation in 2019, the Baltic Defense College (BALTDEFCOL) and are expected to sign a joint communiqué.
Ministers will also participate in the centennial events of the Lithuanian armed forces.
