Seven allowed to cross Latvia-Belarus border

On Tuesday, November 30, seven people were detained for having crossed the Latvian-Belarusian border illegally. The Border Guard allowed these people in citing humanitarian reasons.

433 persons have been detained for illegally crossing the border this year, 295 of which came in the timeframe from August 6 to 10, and 81 of which came after the announcement of the state of emergency.

22 people's attempts of illegally crossing the Latvian-Belarusian State border were prevented November 30.

Since the announcement of the state of emergency on the Latvia-Belarus border August 10, the Border Guard has prevented 2,653 persons from crossing the border. The state of emergency lasts until February 10, 2022.
