The Rīga-based NATO Strategic Communications Center of Excellence (STRATCOMCOE) returns for another online discussion February 3 with the topic being "information laundering".

"Information Laundering is a term that comes from our Center’s report that analyses how false or deceitful information is legitimised through a network of intermediaries that gradually apply a set of techniques in order to distort it and obscure the original source," says a preview by the organizers.

The discussion will focus on the opportunities and challenges that such research poses and what lessons can be identified from the case studies regarding hostile influence in the Nordic Baltic region.

Speakers will be Belén Carrasco Rodríguez an Intelligence Analyst at Neon Century, Nika Aleksejeva, a Digital Forensics Researcher at the Atlantic Council’s DRFLab, and the discussion will be moderated by Nora Biteniece, a Strategic Communications Consultant to the Latvian cabinet.

The event will be livestreamed on February 3 at 16:00 Rīga time (GMT+2) on STRATCOMCOE's Facebook and YouTube channels.
