The number of applications received over the past three years has tended to fall. A total of 10,147 applications were received in 2022, 10,182 in 2021 and 10,296 in 2020.
The application for studies takes place on the basis of a system of priorities where applicants can indicate several study programs they would like, and as a result of the competition, each applicant can acquire one seat in one study program. Admission to full-time basic study programs take place in accordance with the competition procedures following the results of centralized examinations.
The electronic system provides application opportunities for system, which is available on the home page, high-school graduates can apply for studies at University of Latvia, Rīga Technical University, Latvia University of Life Sciences and Technologies, BA School of Business and Finance, Daugavpils University, Liepāja University, Vidzeme University College, and Economics and Culture University College.
Other universities and university colleges have separate admission systems.
