19 municipalities make it on the 'safe' list for opening schools

Pupils from grades 1-4 will be able to learn onsite in 19 municipalities where the cumulative incidence rate is currently below 220, according to the information published by Disease Prevention and Control Center (SPKC) March 3.

Starting Monday, March 8, pupils will be able to go to school in these municipalities:

  1. Alsunga municipality
  2. Durbe municipality
  3. Ērgļi municipality
  4. Kuldīga municipality
  5. Ķegums municipality
  6. Mālpils municipality
  7. Mērsrags municipality
  8. Naukšēni municipality
  9. Nereta municipality
  10. Pārgauja municipality
  11. Pāvilosta municipality
  12. Pļaviņas municipality
  13. Rundāle municipality
  14. Rūjiena municipality
  15. Salacgrīva municipality
  16. Skrīveri municipality
  17. Vecumnieki municipality
  18. Viesīte municipality
  19. Zilupe municipality

The list of municipalities where onsite learning is safe enough is published every Wednesday by SPKC. It is currently planned that later in March, older pupils might also return to school in these municipalities.
