In future, persons travelling through the country's external borders will be required to complete a questionnaire on COVID-19 risks also when not using international carrier services, the Ministry of Interior said July 28.

On Tuesday, July 28, the government supplemented the rules which stipulate that persons entering Latvia through the country's external borders, also when not using international carrier services, fill out a statement (questionnaire) to the Border Guard.

The Border Guard will forward this declaration to the State Police if the statement contains an indication of the person's stay in a high-risk country, to which special precautionary and restrictive measures apply.

In other cases, the State Border Guard will transfer the questionnaire to the SPKC..

As from 16 July, every traveler who arrives in Latvia using international carrier services is registered. Travelers with private transport have so far been questioned randomly.
