According to data from the Central Statistical Bureau, there were a provisional 1,882,200 inhabitants in Latvia at the beginning of July 2021. In total, 69.12% of the population have received at least the first shot or the Johnson & Johnson vaccine against Covid-19, while 66.05% of the population have completed the vaccination process, of which 15.38% have received the booster vaccine, according to LETA estimates.
The booster has thus been received by 10.16% of the population or 191,246 people.
As the pace of booster shots increases, people's interest in first-time vaccinations continues to decrease. Only 5,386 people got the first shot last week. Accordingly, the number of second-dose recipients is also decreasing.
Up to now, 274 children aged five to eleven years have received the vaccine against Covid-19. Vaccination of children started on December 16.
