Altogether, around 93,000 people have applied for Covid-19 vaccination voluntarily, Health Minister Daniels Pavļuts told Latvian Television February 12.

Voluntary signup for the jab against Covid-19 began a week ago on the portal manavakcina.lv. On Wednesday, the signup phone line 8989 also began working.

Around 20,000 of the people who have signed up are seniors over the age of 60, said Pavļuts. He pointed out that seniors also sign up online, as only 3,000 persons have signed up via phone altogether.

No matter whether an application will be received on the www.manavakcina.lv website or by phone, at the time the vaccines are available, these data will be used jointly for planning and organizing the vaccination process.

Residents will also be able to  apply through their general practitioners or collectively through workplaces.
