Vaccination rate in Latvia continued to reduce last week

Last week, the pace of vaccination against Covid-19 continued to decrease in Latvia, according to data from the National Health Service (NVD), LETA reported June 21.

Last week, around 18,500 people received the first shot against Covid-19, while around 59,000 people received the second shot. Around 11,000 people a day were vaccinated and around 77,000 in total.

As of May 10, over 100,000 people were vaccinated each week for four consecutive weeks in Latvia, but in the last two weeks, these figures have fallen.

The Pfizer vaccine was used most often for both the first and second shots.

In total, around 587,000 people have received the first dose against Covid-19 in Latvia, while around 484,000 people have completed the vaccination process, respectively around 31% of the population have received the first shot against Covid-19, and around 25.6% have completed the process.
