Latvian 'Entrepreneurs for Peace' report €6.6 million total aid to Ukraine

Since the beginning of the Russian war in Ukraine, the Latvian enterprise and private fund "Entrepreneurs for Peace" has sent more than €6.6 million in aid to Ukraine and its armed forces, said Laura Skrodele, representative of the fund, on July 31.

With donor support, 132 generators, 230 vehicles, including emergency vehicles, trailered tractors, boats, 271 drones, 80 police and night vision equipment, 80 mobile charging stations and computers, as well as 6,502 units of clothing and equipment, have been sent to Ukraine since February 24 last year.

Aid worth €1.7 million has been sent to Ukraine in the first six months of this year.

Various units of the Ukrainian armed forces, the National Guard, and the National Police have received more than 75 vehicles used by the Latvian State Police. The Chief of State Police Armands Ruks pointed out that, at the moment, the Ukrainian police, with limited resources, care not only about the internal security of their people and the land, but also fighting for the lives of people, the freedom of their country, and the future of war.

"In these circumstances, there is no doubt about the need for the aid to be provided and the obligation on our part. Although our options for assistance are limited, I am proud to be able to do so with our partners, who have the potential to invest in the preparation of technical units to strengthen the fighting capabilities of their Ukrainian counterparts," Ruks said.

Charity concerts have also been held as part of the initiative.

Any Latvian company or natural person may become a supporter of the “Entrepreneurs for Peace” fund by means of money transfer to the account LV37HABA0551052837482, as well as by donating to the "Piešauj pretuzbrukumam!" [Shoot for the counterattack!] project on the website of the “Ziedot.lv” fund or “Mobilly” application.
